When Prepping For a Storm, Don't Forget Your Oils

I live in Florida and no matter where in the State we are my family will be affected by Hurricane Irma. I pray God will watch over everyone that is in the path of this monster but I am also in the process of prepping my family so that we have what we need.
Of course, you want to make sure you have the necessities like water, food, gas, clothing, batteries, propane, and the like but did you think about first aid supplies? As part of my first aid tool kit I am making sure that I have my Young Living essential oils. I can use essential oils in several ways that will help my family during this storm and directly afterwards.
Of course, I can't use my diffuser but I will certainly be able to use Purification to ward of odors on musty clothes, in stinky bathrooms, and stinky refrigerators. In addition, Purification applied topically to the skin will help ward off mosquitos which will, no doubt, be a problem in days to come.
Lemon is another great oil for freshening up a room. Add it to a glass spray bottle filled with Thieves Household Cleaner and wipe down those germy surfaces to help keep your family well while you wait for power to be restored and things to get back to normal. If you don’t have a glass spray bottle you can use Thieves without the Lemon in a plastic spray bottle.
Lavender will be a good one to have on hand for any cuts, scrapes, and bites that may occur during or after the storm. Clearing away brush and branches that were knocked down could easily result in cuts and scrapes, not to mention the insects you will encounter while doing so.
Frankincense is great for swelling and inflammation that could result after working harder than usual to clear away debris. It's also great for your overall immunity so take a drop or two each day in your water or directly under the tongue to boost your immunity.
Thieves essential oil is a germ killing super hero and germs will be abundant after the storm. They will easily multiply in areas with standing water, no electricity, rotting food, and crowded living quarters, like shelters.
I won’t be found without my Stress Away either. I can apply Stress Away to my family’s neck and wrists to help them stay calm at any time but it will be especially helpful during the storm.
Peppermint will be my go to when we are roasting from lack of air conditioning while the power is out. Peppermint applied to the back of the neck will cool your body down and it has a refreshing aroma which will be helpful after a few days without a shower.
I will also be keeping packets of Ningxia Red so my family can boost their health with its 18 antioxidants. Trying to do as much as can to keep my family well during and after the storm is important and I am grateful that I have Young Living to support my family’s wellness always but especially during a stressful natural disaster like Hurricane Irma.
Stay safe everyone and God Bless.
